MTN FA Cup holders Asante Kotoko SC have crashed out of the Cup competition after losing 4-2 to Aduana FC on penalties in the Round of 16 encounter at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday. The match ended goalless after regulation time, with both sides failing to find the back of the net. The Porcupine Warriors had an early chance to take control of the contest, but defender Samba O’Neil missed from the penalty spot.

Aduana FC proved more resolute in the shootout, converting 4 of their kicks to secure qualification to the quarterfinals.

In another epic clash, former champions Dreams FC defeated Inter Allies 4-2 to pick their spot in the Quarters after a dominant display at the Tiba Astro Turf. Striker Razak Salifu scored a hat-trick in the 37th, 50th, and 62nd minutes of the match, after an opener from Ebenezer Adade in the 20th minute. Inter Allies, finalists in 2014, scored through Vincent Amedzrator and Abubakar Lartey, but their goals were not enough to salvage their side as they fell 4-2 to the 2023 Champions.

Elsewhere at the Golden City Park, Berekum Chelsea beat Tamale City 1-0 to advance, following an audacious strike from Kofi Osbern Tanab in the 80th minute. Techiman Liberty Youth walloped Real Tamale United 3-0 at the Ohene Ameyaw Park to also book their place in the Quarters, while Heart of Lions needed to dig deep to beat third-tier side True Life FC 3-2.

Aduana FC, Berekum Chelsea, Techiman Liberty Youth, Dreams FC, and Kpando Heart of Lions join Attram De Visser, Medeama SC, and Nations FC in the Quarterfinals.
