The Groups for the 2025 KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship has been announced.
The youth competition is set to kick off on Friday, September 19, and run through Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
This year’s tournament features an expanded field of 12 teams drawn from Ghana’s 10 Regional Football Associations (RFAs) and the GFA Elite Academies (Northern and Greater Accra).
The teams have been divided into two groups of six, with each region selecting its best U17 players from district and zonal Colts competitions. The GFA Elite Academies, Northern Academy (Bolgatanga) and Greater Accra Elite B, complete the lineup. Group-stage matches will determine which teams advance to the knockout rounds, culminating in a grand finale to crown the 2025 champions.
Defending champions Western Region headline Group A, where they will face last year’s third-place finishers Northern Region, along with Volta, Upper West, Greater Accra and the Elite Academy (Bolgatanga).
In Group B, 2024 runners-up Eastern Region will compete against Central, Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, Upper East and Greater Accra Elite B.

Each of the ten Regional Football Associations (RFAs) will assemble a squad of the best U17 players from their district and zonal Colts competitions to represent their regions in this prestigious juvenile tournament.
Over the past four years, the KGL U17 Inter-Regional Championship has consistently unearthed exceptional talent, with many alumni advancing to Ghana’s junior national teams, excelling in the domestic leagues and even securing opportunities to further their development with clubs abroad.
