FIFA TDS Ghana: Penalty drama decides tense Matchday Three

FIFA TDS Ghana: Penalty drama decides tense Matchday Three

The first match in Group A saw Upper East face Western. Upper East secured a 2-0 victory with two quick goals in the second half. The goals were scored in the 42nd minute and 43rd minute, respectively.

In the second Group A match, Eastern faced Central. The match was decided by a penalty shootout, with Eastern emerging victorious 3-2 against Central.

In another exciting fixture, Eastern Elite B faced off against the Volta Region team in a tightly contested encounter that ended goalless after 70 minutes of intense play. Both sides displayed remarkable defensive discipline, denying each other clear scoring opportunities despite several promising attacks. With neither team able to find the back of the net in regulation time, the match proceeded to a nerve-wracking penalty shootout.  Volta Region held their composure under pressure, converting three spot-kicks against Eastern Elite B’s two, to secure a hard-fought 3–2 victory.

The third match in Group A was between Northern and Greater Accra. Greater Accra won the match 2-0, with the first goal setting the tone for their victory.

In Group B, Eastern and Central faced off in a match that also went to a penalty shootout. Eastern won the shootout 3-2 against Central, with Christiana Ashiaku’s last strike.

The second match in Group B featured Ashanti Region against Elite Academy. The game ended in a 1-1 draw, leading to a penalty shootout, which Ashanti Region won 5-3 to claim the points.

The third Group B match was between Brong Ahafo and Upper West. The game saw several goals, Gloria Owusu scoring in the 19th minute, Bepaaki Combat in the 25th minute, Esther Kisiwaa in the 40th minute, and Ose Emmanuella in the 54th minute. Ruth also converted a penalty in the 60th minute to complete the scoring.
