FIFA TDS: Elite U15 Boys Colts Championship Kicks Off with Competitive Results on Matchday One

The 2026 Elite U15 Boys Colts Championship got off to an exciting start on Friday at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence, with teams battling for early supremacy in the third edition of the competition.

A total of eight matches were played across two pitches, producing impressive performances and closely contested encounters as the young talents showcased their abilities under FIFA’s Talent Development Scheme (TDS).

On Pitch 1, the Western Region began their campaign on a winning note with a 2-0 victory over the Eastern Region. Elite Academy – Bolgatanga SHS also secured maximum points after edging Ashanti Region 1-0 in a tightly contested encounter.

The afternoon session saw Elite Academy – Achimota SHS record a comfortable 2-0 win against the Volta Region, while the Northern Region claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Western Region.

On Pitch 2, Elite Academy – Prempeh College opened their campaign with a 2-0 triumph over the Upper West Region. The Greater Accra Region then produced one of the standout performances of the day with a commanding 3-0 win over the Brong Ahafo Region.

In the afternoon fixtures, the Central Region defeated the Upper East Region 3-0, while Ashanti Region bounced back from their earlier defeat to secure a narrow 1-0 victory over Eastern Region.

The opening day results has set the stage for an exciting tournament as the participating regional teams and elite academies continue to showcase talents which is the main focus of the championship.

The championship is expected to provide a valuable platform for identifying more talents and nurturing them for the next generation of footballers in Ghana.
