Premier League football is set to make a highly anticipated return to Obuasi, with Asante Kotoko scheduled to face newly promoted FC AshantiGold 04 in the first Ashanti Derby of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
The Football Association’s newly released fixtures have paired the two regional rivals on Matchday Eight, with the first meeting set to take place at the Len Clay Stadium between October 23 and 26, 2026. The return fixture will be staged in Kumasi on Matchday 25, scheduled for March 12–15, 2027.
The clash promises to rekindle one of Ghana football’s most celebrated regional rivalries while marking the long-awaited return of top-flight football to the famous mining town of Obuasi.
