The Black Starlets have stepped up preparations for the upcoming WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship, moving their training camp to the University of Ghana as they gear up for the competition scheduled for September in Côte d’Ivoire.

The team, under the guidance of the technical team, is currently training at the University of Ghana Stadium Annex, having earlier begun their pre-tournament preparations at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram. The relocation to Legon is aimed at enhancing their readiness with improved facilities and closer engagement with tactical drills.

Originally slated to be held in Nigeria, the tournament has been shifted to Côte d’Ivoire and will feature some of the region’s strongest football nations, including Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Niger, Togo, Benin, Ghana, and Nigeria.

The Black Starlets are determined to put up a solid performance as they seek to reclaim dominance in youth football across the sub-region as well as secure qualification t the U17 AFCON later this year. Technical sessions have been coupled with physical conditioning and tactical exercises, ensuring the players are well-prepared for the challenge ahead.

The WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship serves as the qualifying tournament for the 2025 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations, making it a crucial step for Ghana’s bid to return to the continental stage.

With less than a month to go, the Starlets remain focused, confident, and motivated to make the nation proud in Côte d’Ivoire.
