The NFL regular season is when most teams make their case to contend for the title or secure a higher draft pick to help them compete in the future.
Most contests in a week are in the afternoon, usually at 1 p.m. ET, with some starting after 4 p.m. The marquee matchups, however, occur after 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sunday, and Monday. Games are also scheduled on holidays, and they tend to draw large viewership.
