Peter Schmeichel has slammed Lisandro Martinez and called him a player not suitable for Manchester United after the defender’s sending-off in the Red Devils’ 2-0 defeat at Chelsea, adding that he let Michael Carrick down.
Martinez was dismissed in the 63rd minute at Stamford Bridge on Saturday (October 31), collecting two yellow cards in a four-minute span. The first came for pulling Morgan Rogers’ shirt; the second, after a VAR review, for jumping into Wesley Fofana with a raised forearm and catching the Chelsea centre-back in the face. Referee Peter Bankes awarded a penalty, and Cole Palmer converted from the spot to make it 2-0.
