Longtime Dallas Cowboys insider Ed Werder does not see Troy Aikman coming back to the organization, and his reasoning has little to do with the broadcast booth. The only job Aikman would want is the one Jerry Jones has held for more than three decades.
Aikman’s ESPN contract runs out after the network calls its first Super Bowl in February, and he has put the odds of being in the booth next season at “50-50”. On Oct. 26 he and Jones spoke at length on the field before the Cowboys beat the Philadelphia Eagles 38-21, and Jones told 105.3 The Fan that hiring him was “very possible”. That was all the speculation needed.
