We're going to do everything to win It – Kim Lars Bjorkegren vows victory against Hong Kong

Black Queens coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has laid down the gauntlet ahead of his team’s international friendly against Hong Kong, insisting that despite the experimental nature of the camp, the objective remains a victory.

Ahead of the clash, Coach Kim provided a detailed scouting report on their opponents, revealing that he had done his homework. “I’ve watched four or five games. They have probably played some more games in the past. But we know them well, I would say, from the videos,” he confirmed.

Acknowledging the fixture’s competitive nature, he pointed to the FIFA rankings as an indicator of a tight contest. “I know they have a similar FIFA ranking to us. I think it’s 72, so a little bit higher. But I expect a close game.”

Drawing on his experience coaching in Asia, he offered a tactical breakdown of what the Black Queens can expect from the Pink Ladies. “I’ve been working in Asia. I’ve been playing against a lot of Asian teams as well. I know that they normally are very good when it comes to technique. They don’t miss any passes. They are very clean. They are normally well organised, I would say as well.”

He believes his side holds a distinct physical advantage that they will look to exploit. “I know this team has a couple of tall players. But otherwise, I expect us to be a little bit physically stronger. And hopefully, in the best scenario as well, better.”

While this window serves as a valuable opportunity to assess new players and implement tactical ideas, the competitive fire within the Ghana camp is burning bright. Bjorkegren made it clear that the team’s mentality is fixed on securing a positive result. “We’re going to do everything to win it, even if I know it’s a friendly game. I hope and expect us to win.”
