Mumbai Indians (MI) fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was seen giving valuable tips on how to practice yorkers to Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) Kartik Tyagi after their 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) game at the Eden Gardens on Wednesday, May 20.

In a clip shared by MI’s social media platforms, Bumrah is seen advising Tyagi to practice bowling yorkers in the nets when the body is most tired. That would eventually get the body used to the physical requirements of bowling the effort ball during the death overs of an innings.

“When I practice my yorkers, I do it when I am tired because in the game, when the body is tired, that is when it gets used to bowling yorkers. So when you are bowling in the nets, practice yorkers in the last six balls of the session because that is when you would be the most tired, so when the body gets used to that, it would get easier in the actual game,” Jasprit Bumrah was quoted as saying in the video.

Bumrah is widely regarded as one of the best death over bowlers in the world due to his outstanding control over bowling consistent yorkers. The 32-year-old practised the art of bowling yorkers with the help of Sri Lankan Lasith Malinga during their time together at MI.

Despite his prowess with the ball, Bumrah is not enjoying a fruitful season in the IPL this time around. The right-arm pacer has taken just four wickets from 13 matches this season, whilst conceding runs at an economy of 8.36. He did, however, end the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup as the joint-highest wicket-taker to help India win back-to-back titles.

Tyagi, on the other hand, is enjoying a breakout season for KKR. The pace bowler has taken 18 wickets for the three-time champions and has filled the void left behind by the injured Harshit Rana.
