Tunisian referee Fredj Abdellaou has been appointed to officiate the crucial FIFA U17 World Cup qualification play-off clash between Ghana and Uganda at the 2026 U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The highly anticipated encounter is scheduled to kick off at 19:00 GMT, with both sides set to battle for one of Africa’s remaining slots at the FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar later this year.

CAF confirmed that Abdellaou will be assisted by fellow Tunisian Yassine Saadaoui as Assistant Referee One, while Egyptian official Soliman Mohamed Magdy will serve as Assistant Referee Two.

Moroccan referee Mohamed El Baroudi has been named as the fourth official for the game, while Larenion Miladera of Madagascar will act as the Reserve Assistant Referee.

The Match Commissioner for the fixture will be Negash Negassi of Eritrea, while Evarist Menkouande of Cameroon has been appointed as the referees assessor.

The Black Starlets head into the decisive encounter after finishing third in Group D following victories over South Africa and competitive displays against Algeria and Senegal.

Head Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum and his technical team have completed preparations ahead of the clash, with all players available for selection.

Victory over Uganda will secure Ghana one of Africa’s final qualification places for the FIFA U17 World Cup, making Saturday’s encounter one of the most important matches of the Black Starlets’ campaign in Morocco.
