Two Black Starlets players, Rashidan Yakubu and Joseph Narbi, have been named in the WAFU Zone B U17 Boys Championship Group Stage Best XI following their impressive performances in the competition.

Rashidan Yakubu, a dependable center-back, played in all three group matches for Ghana, showcasing composure, strength, and defensive awareness. His consistency at the back has been a key factor in Ghana’s solid displays throughout the group phase.

Team captain Joseph Narbi also earned his place in the Best XI after leading the Black Starlets with distinction. The skipper featured in all three group games, providing leadership, creativity, and control in attack to inspire his teammates. He was voted the Man of The Match in their game against Togo.

Their inclusion highlights Ghana’s quality in the tournament so far and serves as a big boost ahead of the Black Starlets’ semi-final showdown against Nigeria on Tuesday. The recognition also reflects the hard work of the technical team, led by head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, who has guided the side through a tough group campaign.

It is the hope of the technical team that both Rashidan and Narbi continue their excellent form as the Starlets chase a place in the final and qualification for next year’s U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
