League leaders Medeama SC tightened their grip on the Premier League title race with a dramatic 2–1 victory over Vision FC on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the Nii Adjei Kraku Stadium, extending their advantage at the summit to seven points.

Salim Adams emerged as the hero of the afternoon, producing two thunderous second-half free-kicks to turn the game on its head.

After Vision FC had taken a first-half lead through Faruk Mohammed’s fierce strike that ricocheted inside the box, Medeama responded with composure and control, steadily piling on the pressure.

Adams levelled matters with a powerful set-piece before delivering the decisive moment deep into stoppage time, unleashing a stunning effort from nearly 40 yards in the 94th minute to seal all three points.

The victory stretched Medeama’s unbeaten league run to 16 matches and marked their third consecutive win, further cementing their status as title contenders.

Elsewhere, Bibiani Gold Stars and Asante Kotoko were forced to settle for a goalless draw at Dun’s Park in a tightly contested encounter that offered few clear-cut chances.

The champions enjoyed slightly more possession, while Kotoko posed the greater attacking threat, particularly in the second half.

Kotoko thought they had snatched a late winner when defender Samba O’Neil headed home from a corner, but celebrations were swiftly halted as the referee ruled out the goal for a foul.

Gold Stars remained disciplined and well-organised, preventing the visitors from capitalising on their pressure, though the hosts also lacked cutting edge in the final third.

The stalemate leaves Gold Stars seven points behind league leaders Medeama in second place, while Kotoko sit fourth, eight points off the summit.
