Northern Region recorded an emphatic 5-0 win over Upper West Region on day two of the ongoing Elite U17 Girls Championship.
Huzeifa Abdulai scored a brace in the opening minutes before Janet Tetteh’s own goal gave Northern Region a 3-0 lead at the break.
Ruhia extended the advantage with a solo run, slotting the ball into the top right corner to put the game beyond Upper West. Dahamani added a fifth to seal a commanding 5-0 victory for Northern Region.
Ashanti Region continued their dominance with a 3-0 win over the GFA Elite Academy to maintain their unbeaten run. Lordina opened the scoring before Jennifer Amoako and Becca Ngozi got on the scoresheet.
Eastern Region came from behind to defeat Volta Region 2-1 in the day’s second game.
Asabra Jennifer gave Volta the lead, but their joy was short-lived as Vivian Asare drew Eastern Region level. Ruth Fosu struck in the final minute to complete the comeback and secure a 2-1 win.
Greater Accra picked up their first win after losing their opening match to Central Region, defeating Western Region 4-2 to claim their first three points of the tournament.
Brong Ahafo and Central Region played out a goalless draw in the last game of the day. Brong Ahafo edged their opponents 3-0 on penalties to claim the extra point.
