The maiden edition of the MTN Elite U19 Championship is set to commence from October 23 to November 2, 2025, at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.

The 11-day championship will feature ten Regional Football Association (RFA) U19 teams, bringing together some of the most promising young footballers from across the country in a celebration of emerging talent, teamwork and football excellence.

Proudly sponsored by telecommunications giant MTN, the MTN Elite U19 Championship stands as a flagship initiative designed to unearth, nurture, and elevate young footballers from the grassroots. The competition provides a dedicated platform for second-division and regional-level players to showcase their skills, gain valuable exposure, and attract attention from national youth teams and professional clubs.

More than just a tournament, the championship is a strategic development programme that aligns with the Football Association’s  “Power to the Youth” policy, as well as key national and global youth football initiatives, including the FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS), the Elite Academies Project and the Catch Them Young Refereeing Programme.

The MTN Elite U19 Championship plays a crucial role in building a sustainable football ecosystem, one rooted in early talent identification, technical development and equitable opportunity. It seeks to bridge the gap between grassroots and elite football, ensuring that young players receive structured pathways to professional growth.

As the tournament prepares to kick off in Prampram, anticipation is high among national team scouts, coaches and football enthusiasts eager to witness the next generation of Ghanaian football stars begin their journey to greatness.
