A local derby is set to ignite Zone Two of the Access Bank Division One League as Matchday 3 gets underway this weekend. Former Premier League side New Edubiase United will clash with local rivals FC AshantiGold 04 at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium on Saturday. Both teams have amassed 4 points from a possible 6 after drawing one and winning one of their first two matches. New Edubiase United drew 1-1 with Elmina Sharks at home and followed up with a 1-0 win over UCC Youngsters on the road, thanks to a heroics from Bernard Junior Kokonou. FC AshantiGold 04 started the season with a decisive win at home and a goalless draw against Cape Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs. This match presents an opportunity for the winner to assert their authority in the zone as clubs vie for a ticket to top-flight football.

In Kumasi, King Faisal will lock horns with PAC Academy at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. King Faisal have yet to assert their authority in the league, picking only one point in two matches after a goalless draw with Skyy FC on Matchday 1 and a 2-0 loss to Nsuopon Fidelity last weekend. Meanwhile, PAC Academy boasts 4 points from two matches, having secured a 1-0 win at home and a goalless draw against Rospak FC.

In another thrilling encounter, Cape Coast Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs will face Skyy FC at the Robert Mensah Sports Stadium, while Sekondi Eleven Wise take on UCC Youngsters at the Gyandu Park.
