Liverpool are allegedly keen to sign four new players after signing Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz this summer.
Earlier this week, Arne Slot’s side allegedly tabled a bid worth £110 million including add-ons for Wirtz. However, Leverkusen could draw out talks in hopes of earning close to £126 million for the 22-year-old, who is hoping to join the Reds.
Now, according to Sky Sports, Liverpool are likely to rope in a striker after finalising a potential deal for the German. They have identified Eintracht Frankfurt star Hugo Ekitike as a top target. They are also keeping tabs on Alexander Isak, Victor Osimhen, and Benjamin Sesko.
The Merseyside club are said to be interested in signing a new left-back with Bournemouth star Milos Kerkez a priority target. They are also set to pursue young centre-back and a defensive midfielder before the end of the summer transfer window.
Earlier this Friday (May 30), Jeremie Frimpong left Bayer Leverkusen and completed a £30 million transfer to the Reds on a five-year contract.
Speaking to LFCTV after his arrival, Jeremie Frimpong said (h/t Metro):
Frimpong, who is a former Celtic player, continued to laud Arne Slot:
Frimpong, 24, has established himself as one of the most exciting wing-backs in the world over the past three campaigns. He has registered 28 goals and 35 assists in his last 143 matches across competitions for Erik ten Hag’s outfit.
The Netherlands international helped his former club win the Bundesliga title and DFB-Pokal crown in the 2023-24 season. He also guided them to the DFL-Supercup trophy in the 2024-25 campaign.
