Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has boldly claimed that he would have left the club in the summer if he were in Vinicius Jr‘s shoes. He claims that the Brazilian’s decision to stay in a country and league where he is not respected should be appreciated, as he looks to prove them wrong.
Speaking to the media ahead of the Sevilla clash, Mourinho said that Vinicius Jr is a Real Madrid fan and his love for the city was a key reason for him to stay. He added that the Brazilian winger could have easily forced an exit in the summer, but opted to stay despite the constant pressure and abuse around the country. He said:
