On the occasion of Eid al-Adha, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has extended a warm message of goodwill to Ghanaian football patrons, celebrating the spirit of unity, sacrifice, and togetherness that the occasion embodies.

Here is the statement.

Dear Members of the Football Community, Fellow Ghanaians, and Our Cherished Muslim Brothers and Sisters,

On behalf of the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), and on my own behalf,  I extend warmest wishes to all Muslims in Ghana and across the world as you celebrate the blessed occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.

Eid-ul-Adha, the festival of sacrifice, is a profound reminder of the virtues of faith, humility, obedience, and compassion. It is a time that calls on us to reflect on the values of unity, generosity, and service to one another – principles that also lie at the heart of our beautiful game.

As we mark this sacred occasion, I commend our Muslim players, coaches, officials, supporters, and administrators who continue to uphold the spirit of our beautiful game. Your contributions continue to inspire and strengthen the fabric of Ghanaian football.

May this Eid bring peace to our homes, renew our collective hope, and deepen the bonds of brotherhood and understanding among all people, regardless of faith or background. Let us continue to work together to build a more inclusive and vibrant football culture, one that reflects the best of our values as a nation.

As you celebrate with family and loved ones, I pray for your safety, joy, and good health. May the sacrifices made during this season be rewarded with countless blessings.

Eid Mubarak!

Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku

2nd Vice-President, CAF / President, Ghana Football Association
