The Football Association’s Talent Identification Programme (TID) has entered the final phase of its nationwide talent selection exercise.

Led by the Technical Directorate, the final assessment stage will bring together the most outstanding young players identified during the first and second phases of the nationwide scouting programme. The selected talents will undergo a comprehensive evaluation before being admitted into the GFA’s Elite Academy Schools at Bolgatanga Senior High School, Prempeh College in Kumasi and Achimota School in Accra.

The nationwide exercise will commence in Accra, covering the Eastern and Volta Regions before moving through the Ashanti and Brong Ahafo Regions, the Northern Region, and concluding in the Western and Central Regions. This final selection process will ensure that the country’s brightest young footballers are assessed in a competitive environment by the GFA’s team of trained and accredited lead and support scouts.

The Talent Identification Programme remains one of the GFA’s flagship youth development initiatives, providing a structured pathway for gifted players from every region of Ghana to be discovered, nurtured and developed. By extending its reach nationwide, the programme guarantees that talented boys and girls, regardless of their geographical location, have an equal opportunity to pursue their football dreams.

At the heart of the initiative is the GFA’s firm belief that education and football must go hand in hand. The Elite Academy Schools combine quality academic instruction with high-performance football training, enabling young players to develop both on the pitch and in the classroom while preparing them for future opportunities in the game and beyond.

The 2026 exercise marks the fourth consecutive year that the Ghana Football Association has placed outstanding young talents into its Elite Academy Schools, reinforcing its long-term commitment to grassroots football development and building a sustainable pipeline of talent for Ghana’s clubs and national teams.
