The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has held an engagement session with Premier League clubs to align expectations ahead of the commencement of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

The meeting, which took place at the GFA Headquarters in Accra, brought together members of the GFA Executive Council and top officials of the 18 Premier League clubs.

In his opening remarks, GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku emphasized the need for all stakeholders to play their part in ensuring the success of the new partnership between the Association and Adesa Productions. He noted that with the significant level of investment being injected into the game, clubs must contribute their quota to guarantee delivery of value to sponsors and enhance the commercial appeal of the league.

Practical considerations were extensively discussed in a frank and comprehensive manner, with club officials raising issues that have historically affected the growth and image of the league. The discussions also outlined the role of clubs in supporting broadcast partners, fulfilling obligations to sponsors, and promoting the league in ways that ensure its long-term sustainability.

The clubs, in turn, shared their perspectives on the partnership, charging each other to eschew practices that could hinder progress, and pledging their commitment to work collectively for the success of the 2025/26 season.

The need for clubs, the Association, and the media to be aligned on their roles and contributions to the success of the collaboration was also emphasized.

The session further explored modalities for collaboration among the clubs to effectively market the league and boost its commercial viability.

The GFA remains confident that with the renewed sense of commitment demonstrated at the meeting, the 2025/26 Premier League season will be one of the most competitive and commercially rewarding in recent years.
