Match Day 4 of the Elite U15 Boys Colts Championship produced a blend of drama, dominant wins, and fine individual performances as teams in both groups battled for crucial points in their quest for glory.

In Group A, Greater Accra Region and Volta Region played out a goalless draw in regulation time, but the post-match penalty shootout turned into an unforgettable marathon. Volta Region eventually triumphed 15-14 after a dramatic exchange of kicks.

The second game saw the GFA Elite Academy Kumasi showcase their attacking firepower with a convincing 3-0 victory over Upper East Region, courtesy of a superb hat-trick from Thomas Asante. In the last fixture, Northern Region continued their strong form with a 2-0 win over Western Region, with captain Abubakar Kamal scoring both goals.

Group B fixtures were equally exciting. Upper West Region displayed their dominance with a commanding 4-0 victory over Central Region. Goals from Kamal Yahaya, Saeeed Mohammed Jnr., Razak Mohammed, and Maruf Mohammed sealed the emphatic win. The GFA Elite Academy in Bolga fought hard against Brong Ahafo Region in a pulsating 2-2 draw. Kwaara Abdul Baari netted twice for the Academy, but Gad Owusu and Oppong Prince struck back to secure a point for Brong Ahafo. Brong Ahafo went on to win the penalty shootouts by 7-6. In the final Group B clash, Ashanti Region edged Eastern Region 1-0, with Adjei Godfred grabbing the match-winner after goalkeeper Richard Donkor saved a crucial penalty to keep Ashanti in the contest.

The day’s results have intensified the competition in both groups as the championship heads into the decisive stages. With standout performances from players like Thomas Asante and Abubakar Kamil, the tournament continues to unearth bright prospects for the future of Ghana football.
