FC AshantiGold ’04 widens lead at top of table with win over King Faisal, Sekondi Rospak beat Nsuopun Fidelity in Zone Two

Sekondi Rospak SC recorded back-to-back victories for the second time this season after edging Nsuopun Fidelity 2–1 at the Tarkwa and Aboso Stadium. The result marked Nsuopun Fidelity’s sixth defeat of their debut campaign. John Amoah opened the scoring for Sekondi Rospak SC just three minutes after kickoff, before Benjamin Owusu produced a brilliant finish in the 23rd minute to draw the visitors level. Stephen Antony Kofi struck the decisive goal in the 51st minute to secure all three points for the hosts.

Zone Two leaders FC AshantiGold ’04 strengthened their grip at the top of the table with an impressive 3–1 victory over former Premier League side King Faisal at the Len Clay Sports Stadium in Obuasi on Sunday. It was their 10th win of the season after Matchday 15. FC AshantiGold ’04 now sit comfortably at the summit with 33 points from 15 matches.

Elsewhere, title contenders Sefwi All Stars FC secured their ninth win of the campaign with an emphatic 4–2 triumph over struggling Police National at the Juaboso Mampong Town Park. Samuel Owusu gave the hosts an early lead in the 7th minute, before Prince Mensah doubled the advantage nine minutes later to hand Sefwi All Stars a 2–0 halftime lead. Owusu completed his brace shortly after the restart in the 50th minute, but Police National responded through Prince Armah just two minutes later. Franklin Owusu reduced the deficit further in the 66th minute to make it 3–2. However, Kwame Adu Djan sealed the victory with a late goal in the 83rd minute. Sefwi All Stars FC currently sit third on the league table with 29 points after 15 matches.
