The stage is set for the 2025/26 MTN FA Cup following Thursday’s preliminary round draw held at the Football Association headquarters in Accra.

A total of ninety-two (92) clubs from the Division One and Division Two Leagues have learned their opponents as the country’s most prestigious knockout competition officially kicks off later this month.

Last season’s finalists, Golden Kick SC, will begin their campaign with a tricky away tie against Attram de Visser Academy, in what promises to be one of the standout fixtures of the preliminary round.

In Group A, Tamale City will travel to Bolga All Stars, while Wa Power SC host Northern City FC in a regional derby. Elsewhere, Victory Club Warriors square off against Steadfast FC, a tie expected to draw significant local interest.

Group B also features several intriguing contests, including Berekum Arsenal at home to Bectero Sasana and Thoughts FC taking on Debibi United, while PAC Academy make the trip to KAC Soccer Academy.

In the Western Zone, Sekondi XI Wise are set to host Skyy FC, while Sekondi Rospak welcome Elmina Sharks to Tarkwa in what could prove to be one of the most competitive ties of the round.

The southern sector offers equally compelling fixtures, with Inter Allies hosting Right to Dream Academy. Okwahu United will travel to face Shalom FC, while WAFA (West Africa Football Academy) begin their campaign at home against Nadom FC.

The preliminary draw was conducted based on zonal and geographical proximity, a measure designed to ensure competitive balance.

The preliminary round matches are scheduled to take place over the weekend of October 24–27, 2025. Winners from this stage will progress to the Round of 64, where they will be joined by all 18 Premier League clubs, marking the beginning of the tournament’s most unpredictable and thrilling phase.

The stage is now set for another exciting chapter in Ghana’s oldest football knockout competition, as clubs from every corner of the country prepare to chase glory in the 2025–26 MTN FA Cup.
