Celebrated Ghanaian music duo DopeNation paid a courtesy call on the President of the Football Association, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, to discuss potential collaboration and matters of mutual interest ahead of Ghana’s participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The high-level engagement took place at the headquarters of the GFA in Accra on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, as the nation intensifies preparations toward the global football spectacle set to be hosted across the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.

The musical duo, made up of identical twin brothers,  Micheal Boafo, popularly known as B2, and Tony Boafo, widely recognized as Twist –  held fruitful discussions with the GFA President, who also serves as the 2nd Vice-President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), on possible avenues for partnership in support of Ghana football.

At the heart of the discussions was a shared vision of leveraging music and entertainment to energize Ghana’s campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup while also promoting the growth and visibility of domestic football.

Recognizing the immense influence of music in rallying national spirit and inspiring unity, both parties explored strategic opportunities for collaboration that could help amplify support for the Black Stars on the world stage while deepening fan engagement across the country.

President Simeon-Okraku warmly welcomed the award-winning duo and commended them for their remarkable rise in the music industry, applauding their consistency, creativity and growing international appeal.

The GFA President singled out their trending hit song, “Kakalika,” describing it as a cultural sensation that has captured the imagination of Ghanaians and resonated with audiences beyond the borders of the country.

He encouraged the brothers to remain united as they continue to soar in the music space, emphasizing that their bond, discipline and collective vision remain key ingredients in their continued success.

President Simeon-Okraku also expressed enthusiasm about the possibility of working closely with the duo as Ghana prepares for what promises to be an exciting FIFA World Cup journey in North America.

“With football and music serving as two of Ghana’s strongest instruments of national identity and pride, there is tremendous value in bringing both sectors together to inspire the nation and project Ghana positively onto the global stage.” the President emphasized.

On behalf of DopeNation, Micheal Boafo, popularly known as B2, expressed profound appreciation to the President for the warm reception and meaningful engagement.

He reaffirmed the duo’s readiness and commitment to contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s World Cup campaign, particularly by spearheading the entertainment and fan engagement drive that would galvanize nationwide support for the Black Stars.

B2 further highlighted the group’s willingness to explore opportunities that would also contribute to the promotion and development of domestic football, signaling DopeNation’s desire to become active stakeholders in Ghana’s football growth story.

Present at the meeting were GFA Deputy General Secretary, Ama Brobey Williams, Head of Business Development at the Football Association, Janice Odonkor; Director of Marketing and President of WAFU Zone B Marketing, Jamil Maraby and Senior Manager of Communication at the Office of the President, Patrick Akoto.

DopeNation attended the meeting alongside members of their management team and included Mohammed Ennin.

With Ghana steadily building momentum toward the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the discussions mark the beginning of what could become an exciting partnership between football and entertainment –  one capable of inspiring a nation, energizing supporters and projecting Ghana’s vibrant culture to the world.

The Ghana Football Association and DopeNation are expected to continue engagements as both parties explore further opportunities for collaboration and partnership in the lead-up to the global showpiece.
