Champions Swedru All Blacks fall on season’s final day, Elmina Sharks secure win in Zone Two

Champions Swedru All Blacks fall on season's final day, Elmina Sharks secure win in Zone Two

Former Premier League side Sekondi Eleven Wise was relegated from the Access Bank Division One League, narrowly missing out on safety by just a goal difference, despite comfortably defeating 13th-placed Sefwi All Stars 3-0 on the final day of the season. Michael Ossom Tetteh scored the first goal for Sekondi Eleven Wise in the 28th minute, while Samuel Adjei Junior doubled the lead before Kwadwo Pele scored an own goal in the 75th minute to secure the win for the home side.

Former Premier League side Elmina Sharks recorded their tenth win in the league on the last day with a convincing 3-2 victory over Future Stars at the Nduom Sports Complex. Alexander Shaibu scored the first goal for Elmina Sharks in the 5th minute, while Samuel Kwarteng responded with a brace to give Future Stars a 2-1 lead before halftime. Emmanuel Carrick Cudjoe brought Elmina Sharks level with a 68th-minute penalty, before Charles Kweku Mensah scored the winner in the 71st minute with a one-on-one finish. Emmanuel Carrick Cudjoe of Elmina Sharks was named player of the match.

Eighth-placed Soccer Intellectuals played out a goalless draw with relegated side Asekem FC at the Senya District Assembly Astro Turf. Both teams had scoring opportunities in either half but failed to capitalize on them. Asekem FC finished the season in 15th position with 31 points, trailing survival in the division by five points.
