The Black Starlets have concluded preparations ahead of their decisive Group D encounter against South Africa at the 2026 U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The youngsters held their final training session on Tuesday evening under the supervision of Head Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum and his technical staff as focus turned fully to the must-win encounter.

Training lasted for over an hour and saw the players go through tactical drills, finishing exercises, shape work, and set-piece routines as the coaches fine-tuned preparations for the important fixture.

The atmosphere in camp remained positive and determined, with the players showing high levels of concentration and intensity throughout the session despite the pressure surrounding the game.

The Black Starlets head into the encounter after collecting one point from their opening two games following a 2-2 draw against Algeria and a narrow 1-0 defeat to Senegal.

Dr. Ogum and his technical team used the final session to emphasize composure, discipline, and attacking efficiency ahead of the clash with the South Africans, who are also battling for qualification from the group.

There was positive news for the technical team as all players trained fully with no injury concerns ahead of the game.

The Starlets know victory could significantly boost their chances of remaining in contention for qualification to the knockout stage and securing a pathway to the FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar later this year.

The players also received words of encouragement from President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, and former Black Stars midfielder Bernard Yao Kumordzi ahead of the crucial showdown.

The team will be aiming to produce a strong performance and keep Ghana’s hopes alive at the continental championship.
