The Black Starlets have wrapped up preparations ahead of their crucial FIFA U17 World Cup qualification play-off against Uganda at the 2026 U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Head Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum supervised the team’s final training session as the players intensified focus ahead of the decisive encounter, which could secure Ghana a place at the FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar later this year.

The session lasted for over an hour and featured tactical drills, finishing exercises, defensive organization, and set-piece routines as the technical team fine-tuned preparations for the important fixture.

There was positive news for the Black Starlets camp as all players trained fully ahead of the game.

Defender Isaac Barfo, who suffered a head injury during Ghana’s final group game against South Africa, took full part in the session and showed no signs of discomfort, providing a major boost for the technical team ahead of the clash.

The players trained with intensity and determination, fully aware of the importance of the encounter against the Uganda Cubs.

The Black Starlets head into the play-off after finishing third in Group D following victory over South Africa and competitive performances against Algeria and Senegal during the group phase.

Dr. Ogum and his technical staff will be hoping the team can build on their recent displays and secure victory in the all-important game to book Ghana’s return to the FIFA U17 World Cup.

The winner of the play-off will claim one of Africa’s remaining qualification slots for the global tournament scheduled to take place in Qatar later this year.
