FIFA TDS: Matchday 3 — Eastern Region edge Western Region in seven-goal thriller

Eastern Region secured a dramatic 4–3 victory over Western Region on Matchday Three of the Elite U15 Regional Girls’ Championship at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence, Prampram.

Esther Botwe gave Eastern a blistering start with two quick goals in the 8th and 10th minutes, but Western Region responded emphatically as Sheila Owusu struck twice in the 18th and 20th minutes to level the scores. The goal-fest continued in the 29th minute when Rebecca Onyehe restored Eastern’s lead, before Princess Boatenimaa immediately pulled Western level again. Onyehe then sealed the win with her second goal in the 49th minute, completing a thrilling 4–3 triumph for Eastern.

Brong Ahafo dominate Upper East with another four-goal haul
Brong Ahafo continued their impressive attacking form, thrashing Upper East Region 4–0. Having also scored four goals in their previous outing, Brong Ahafo have now netted eight times across two matches, underlining their status as one of the tournament’s most potent sides. Upper East struggled to contain the relentless pressure and left the pitch without reply.

Volta Region edge Ashanti Region on penalties
Volta Region and Ashanti Region played out a tense, goalless stalemate in regulation time, with neither side able to break the deadlock despite determined efforts. The match proceeded straight to a penalty shootout, where Volta Region held their nerve to win 3–2.

Elite Academy Bolga beat Northern Region on penalties
Northern Region battled to a 1–1 draw against Elite Academy Bolga in a closely contested encounter. With the scores level after full time, the tie was decided by penalties, where Elite Academy Bolga emerged victorious with a 4–2 shootout win.

Central Region pip Greater Accra with late penalty
The final game of the day saw Central Region and Greater Accra Region produce an intense, hard-fought battle. The deadlock was finally broken in the 49th minute when Central were awarded a penalty, and Zakaria Shafawu calmly stepped up to convert, securing a 1–0 win for Central Region.
