Ghana takes on Comoros in a crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 12, 2025, with the Black Stars looking for a spot at the FIFA World Cup in Mexico, Canada, and the United States of America. Ghana is vying for its third consecutive win in Group I, after victories over Mali and Central African Republic – leading the group with 22 points from nine matches.

Ghana has shown resilience in recent matches, with two wins and one draw in their last three games. The Black Stars secured a 5-0 win over the Central African Republic, thanks to goals from Mohammed Salisu, Thomas Partey, Jordan Ayew, Alexander Djiku, and Kamal Deen Sulemana.

Comoros, on the other hand, has been less impressive in recent fixtures, with two wins and three defeats in their last five matches. They lost 2-1 to Madagascar in their last World Cup qualifier.

Jordan Ayew has been phenomenal in the qualifiers with 7 goals and 7 assists in nine matches, and his leadership skills are a significant asset to the team. He leads players like Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus, Antoine Semenyo, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Alexander Djiku, and Kamal Deen Sulemana.

Comoros boasts quality in Rafiki Said, a skilled winger with pace and trickery. Said has been in good form for Comoros, scoring crucial goals in their World Cup qualifiers. Myziane Maolida, a talented forward with Ligue 1 experience, has also been a threat to opposing defences.

Ghana currently sits at the top of the group with 22 points, three points ahead of Madagascar, and boasts a superior goal difference. Comoros, with 15 points from nine matches, suffered a 2-1 loss to Madagascar last time out and sits in fourth place, tied with Mali on points.

Ghana is favored to win this match due to its home advantage and recent form. A win would see the Black Stars maintain their position at the top of Group I and pick a 5th FIFA World Cup ticket. The match promises to be an exciting encounter, with both teams eager to make a statement.

The match is scheduled for 7pm Kick Off at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 12, 2025.

Head-to-Head: Ghana and Comoros have met four times, with Ghana winning one match, Comoros winning two, and one draw.
