Empowering Women in Football: ASP Bernice Adutwumwaa Kyeremeh’s journey with FIFA
SHARE

ASP Bernice Adutwumwaa Kyeremeh, Head Coach of Ghana’s U16 Girls National Team and a Ghana Football Association (GFA) Coaching Instructor, is charting an inspiring path for women in football. Her recent participation in the prestigious FIFA Female Coach Educators Development Pathway program marks a significant step forward in both her personal coaching career and the broader advancement of women’s football in Ghana and beyond.

The program, designed to increase the number of qualified female coaches worldwide, unfolded in four stages at the Royal Moroccan Football Federation’s Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat, Morocco.

Kyeremeh began her journey with an intensive e-learning phase from August 29 to September 5, 2025, completing eight foundational modules focused on coach education and leadership. This was followed by interactive online sessions on September 1–2 and 8–9, where she engaged with fellow participants and expert instructors to explore advanced coaching methodologies and leadership strategies.

The highlight came during the onsite workshop from September 15 to 19, 2025, where Kyeremeh joined talented female coaches from across Africa and beyond to share experiences, network and refine their skills. FIFA President Gianni Infantino addressed the participants, underscoring women’s football as a top organizational priority:

“You will give hope, make dreams come true and hopefully train future world champions. But, more importantly, you will bring smiles to millions of young girls and help FIFA use the magic of football to transform and empower lives.”

The program’s final stage, Individual Mentoring, is scheduled for January 2026, offering Kyeremeh personalized guidance to further strengthen her expertise as a professional coach educator.

Reflecting on her experience, Kyeremeh emphasized the importance of critical thinking and innovative teaching methods:

“For me as a coach educator, the aim of education should be to teach us how to think, rather than what to think. The course’s focus on andragogy equipped me with new teaching principles, effective feedback and feedforward techniques, and robust coach assessment methods. My key takeaway is the need to narrow the gap in the coaching process from the present into the future.”

Through her dedication and achievements, ASP Bernice Adutwumwaa Kyeremeh embodies the transformative power of education, mentorship and perseverance. Her journey not only inspires aspiring coaches but also underscores the vital role of structured development programs in elevating women’s football worldwide.
