The second day of the 2025 KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U-17 Colts Championship delivered goals, drama and penalty-shootout tension across both groups on Sunday at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence, Prampram.

Group A

Northern Region bounced back from their opening-day defeat in emphatic fashion, defeating Elite Academy (Bolga) 5–2 in a seven-goal thriller on the betPawa Pitch.

Elsewhere, Greater Accra edged defending champions Western Region 7–6 on penalties after a gripping goalless draw, while Upper East also prevailed 7–6 in a shootout against Volta Region following a 1–1 stalemate.

Group B

Brong Ahafo found their rhythm with a narrow 1–0 win over Greater Accra Elite B at the FIFA Pitch. Upper East continued their fine form by defeating Eastern Region 3–2 on penalties after a tense regulation period, and Ashanti Region sealed a confident 3–1 victory over Central Region to cap the day’s action.

Now in its fifth year, the KGL U-17 Inter-Regional Championship has grown into Ghana’s premier youth talent showcase. Featuring an expanded 12-team field drawn from all ten Regional Football Associations alongside the GFA Elite Academies, the 2025 edition is already producing the high-quality football and emerging stars that have become the tournament’s hallmark, with many alumni progressing to Ghana’s junior national sides and domestic league clubs.
