The President of the Football Association Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku led a high-powered delegation to the final funeral rites of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, to honor her memory and express solidarity with the Asante Kingdom.

President Simeon-Okraku was accompanied by Vice-President Mark Addo and Executive Council member Frederick Acheampong as they joined Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, owner and life patron of Asante Kotoko SC, to pay their respects to the late Queen Mother of Asanteman.

The solemn ceremony, held in Kumasi on Thursday September 18, 2025, brought together a distinguished gathering of traditional rulers, political leaders, corporate executives, civil society representatives, and citizens from across the country.

The outpouring of support reflected the deep reverence and affection for the late Queen Mother, whose legacy of unity and service continues to resonate throughout Ghana.

On behalf of the Ghana Football Association, President Simeon-Okraku extended heartfelt condolences to His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the entire Asanteman family. “We share in your profound loss and celebrate the life of a remarkable matriarch whose memory will continue to inspire unity, strength and peace.” he said.

The Ghana Football Association reaffirmed its deep respect for the Ashanti Kingdom’s rich cultural heritage and acknowledged the late Asantehemaa’s important role in promoting unity, harmony and progress throughout the realm.
