The Black Starlets have concluded their preparations ahead of their opening game against Togo in the WAFU Zone B U17 Boys Championship scheduled for Saturday in at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast.

The team held its final training session on Friday under the supervision of head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum and his technical staff. Training focused on fine-tuning tactical drills, set pieces and finishing touches as the players geared up for the crucial Group A encounter.

According to the technical team, all 23 registered players took part in the final session with no injury concerns. This provides a major boost to Ghana’s hopes of starting the tournament on a strong note.

Dr. Ogum, speaking after the session, expressed confidence in his squad’s readiness for the challenge. “The boys have responded very well to our training programs and look focused. We’re confident about our chances against Togo,” he said.

The WAFU Zone B U17 Boys Championship serves as the regional qualifiers for the 2025 U17 Africa Cup of Nations, making every game crucial.

Ghana, drawn in Group A with hosts Ivory Coast, Togo and Niger, will be hoping to replicate the country’s illustrious history at youth level by sealing qualification.
