The Black Starlets have concluded their final phase of preparations in Accra ahead of the much-anticipated WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship.

The team held its last training session on Sunday at the University of Ghana Stadium Annex, fine-tuning tactics and team chemistry before departing for Côte d’Ivoire.

The squad, led by head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has been in camp for weeks, engaging in intensive training, practice matches, and psychological conditioning aimed at molding a competitive side.

The technical team has emphasized discipline, teamwork, and resilience as the Starlets eye a strong showing at the regional tournament, which also doubles as qualifiers for the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The team is scheduled to leave Accra for Côte d’Ivoire on Monday. They are expected to settle into camp in Yamoussoukro and continue their training sessions before their opening fixture on the 20th when the championship officially kicks.

Coach Ogum has expressed confidence in the team’s readiness, noting that the preparations have been thorough and deliberate.

“We have had a very productive camp, and the players have shown great commitment. We are going to Côte d’Ivoire determined to compete and make Ghanaians proud,” he said.

The Black Starlets are two-time world champions and have a storied history at youth level, This campaign presents another opportunity to restore Ghana’s dominance in youth football on the continent.
