The Football Association on Saturday, September 6, 2025, organized a one-day training workshop for Premier League Match Commissioners at its headquarters in Accra.

The session formed part of preparations for the upcoming campaign, equipping Commissioners with the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure the smooth, safe and secure conduct of matches across the country.

The workshop, held at the GFA Conference Room in Ridge, Accra, brought together Commissioners from across the nation for an intensive training that combined lectures, case studies and examinations.

Deputy General Secretary and National Teams Director Alex Asante opened the programme, welcoming participants and expressing appreciation for their sacrifices and dedication to Ghanaian football. He also led a session on the role and responsibilities of the Match Commissioner, underscoring their crucial place in the effective management of competitions.

Director of Competitions, Julius Ben Emunah, took participants through the competitions framework and the Enhanced Matchday Safety and Security Protocols, highlighting how Commissioners must collaborate with clubs, referees and security officials to uphold integrity and safety at venues.

General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo, delivered a detailed lecture on the Premier League Regulations 2025, stressing the importance of strict adherence to the rules governing Ghana’s top-flight competition. He later brought the workshop to a close.

The training also included practical exercises, with participants engaging in case study discussions and writing examinations to assess their grasp of the topics.
