Hearts of Oak face Hohoe United in 2025/26 Premier League season opener on Sept 12

The 2025/26 Premier League season will officially kick off on Friday, September 12, 2025, with a thrilling clash between giants Hearts of Oak and debutants Hohoe United at the Accra Sports Stadium. The highly anticipated opener is scheduled for 7:00 pm local time (19:00 GMT) under the floodlights.

The new campaign promises drama and excitement, with both established clubs and ambitious newcomers eager to make their mark. For Hohoe United, the tie against Hearts of Oak presents a daunting but historic first test in the top flight, while the Phobians will be aiming to set the tone early in their quest for the title.

Action continues on Saturday, September 13, with two key fixtures. Berekum Chelsea will welcome Asante Kotoko to the Golden City Park in one of the standout clashes of the opening weekend. At the same time, Bechem United will travel to Duns Park to take on reigning champions Gold Stars SC, a side looking to begin their title defense in style.

The remaining six fixtures are lined up for Sunday, September 14, offering fans a packed day of football across the country.

Heart of Lions will square off with Dreams FC at the Kpando Stadium while Basake Holy Stars host Eleven Wonders at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena.

Vision FC kick off their campaign against former champions FC Samartex 1996, Medeama SC face a tricky away tie against newly promoted Young Apostles FC at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park in Dormaa and Karela United battle Aduana FC at the Aliu Mahama Stadium. Swedru All Blacks head to the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex to lock horns with Nations FC.

With exciting rivalries, debutants eager to impress and title contenders aiming for early dominance, the opening weekend of the 2025/26 Premier League is set to deliver a feast of football for fans across the nation.
