Ghana’s Police Ladies secured back-to-back victories in Group B of the CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU B qualifiers, overcoming Togo’s ASKO with an impressive 3–1 win in the final group match.

The Ghanaian side started brightly, stamping their authority on the match from the outset. Their early pressure paid off when Sophaia Agyarkwah broke the deadlock in the 8th minute, calmly finishing to hand Police Ladies a deserved lead.

Moments later, the advantage was doubled as Deborah Afriyie struck in the 12th minute, finishing off a sweeping move to put her side firmly in control before the quarter-hour mark.

In the second half, Police Ladies maintained their attacking intent and Deborah Afriyie netted her second goal of the match in the 68th minute, extending the lead to 3–0.

ASKO, however, refused to go down without a fight and managed to grab a consolation goal later in the half and despite the effort, the game ended 3–1 at full time.

Midfield dynamo Asana Hamidu was named Women of the Match for controlling the midfield effortlessly.

The victory lifts Police Ladies to six points from three matches, cementing a second place finish in Group and setting a date with Asec Mimosas in the semi-finals.

The semi-final clash is scheduled for Tuesday September 2, at the Charles Konan Banny stadium.
