GFA TIP: Empowering The Youth - Find, Train and Develop

The Football Association continues with its commitment to providing every player with opportunities to shine through its Talent Identification Programme(TIP) under the FIFA Talent Development Scheme (FIFA TDS).

The ongoing GFA Talent Identification Programme (GFA TIP) spans various football regions, including the Central region.

This initiative emphasizes the GFA’s dedication to nurturing talent and fostering their competitive spirit in football.

In Kasoa, the programme is being spearheaded by Talent Identification Manager, Papa Nii Lartey, with a focus on spotting promising players and guiding them through structured training and mentorship. Young talents benefit from regular sessions designed to sharpen their technical and tactical abilities, all under the supervision of the GFA Technical Directorate, which periodically monitors progress to ensure high-quality development.

The FIFA TDS operates as a comprehensive system, beginning with scouting and talent identification before progressing into specialized training centres. These centres serve as hubs where players are provided with the tools, coaching and discipline needed to excel in the sport.

The GFA works closely with key stakeholders such as Regional Football Association chairmen, including Robert Duncan of the Central Region, to build strong talent development ecosystems.

Identified players are also offered the chance to advance into the GFA National Academies, where they can further refine their skills and eventually aim for national team selection. This structured pathway provides a clear route for young footballers to fulfil their potential and represent Ghana at the international level.

The Talent Identification Programme has already been rolled out successfully in regions such as Greater Accra, Volta, Western, Central and Eastern with more areas set to follow.

By leaving no stone unturned, the GFA is building a nationwide framework for talent discovery and development, underscoring its ambition to make Ghana football globally competitive while giving every young player the platform to succeed.
