President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has provided a comprehensive update on the ongoing transformation of the Association’s flagship technical hub, the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence, detailing a series of major infrastructure projects being undertaken in collaboration with FIFA.

Speaking at the 31st Ordinary Session of Congress held at the facility in Prampram, the President confirmed that the centre “continues to undergo significant upgrades,” aimed at enhancing its capacity to serve as a high-performance training and development hub for Ghanaian football.

Key projects currently in progress include the construction of a multi-purpose hall and gymnasium, which is 75% complete, and a new multi-purpose court, now 90% complete, designed to host other sporting disciplines such as basketball and volleyball. These additions will promote cross-disciplinary training and recreation, expanding the facility’s versatility.

The President also acknowledged earlier technical challenges that had delayed the fencing of the 64.25-acre property and the start of a 40-bed accommodation facility, both part of the GFA’s long-term legacy project. He assured Congress that these challenges have been resolved, with construction scheduled to begin in October.

In addition, work is progressing on two new natural grass pitches, with completion and handover expected in November 2025.

“These investments are part of our broader commitment to building a high-performance, multi-sport environment that supports elite talent development and elevates the standard of Ghanaian football infrastructure,” Okraku stated.

The upgrades are expected to significantly enhance the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence’s role as the nerve centre for football education, training and talent development in Ghana.
