The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has paid a working visit to Premier League champions Gold Stars FC at their training base in Accra, as the club prepares for its historic debut in the 2025/26 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League.

During the visit, President Simeon-Okraku engaged with the players, technical team, and management, offering words of encouragement and reaffirming the GFA’s full support as they take this bold step onto the African inter-club stage.

He urged the team to draw inspiration from fellow Premier League side Dreams FC, who defied expectations to reach the semi-finals of the 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup despite not having a squad packed with marquee names.

Gold Stars FC secured their place in the continental competition after a remarkable domestic campaign that saw them crowned champions of the Ghana Premier League. As they transition to the Champions League, the GFA President expressed confidence in their ability to make a meaningful impact and raise Ghana’s flag high.

President Simeon-Okraku also reiterated the FA’s unwavering commitment to supporting Gold Stars FC throughout their continental campaign. This support will include close collaboration with the club to ensure smooth participation, as well as providing logistical, technical, and administrative assistance aimed at boosting their chances of success.

The President was accompanied by Executive Council members, Samuel Aboabire and Eugene Noel Nobel, Western Regional Football Association chairman, Simon Ehomah as well as some officials of the Greater Accra Football Association.
