The Minority in Ghana’s Parliament has extended a generous donation to the Black Queens, Ghana’s senior women’s national football team, following their impressive performance at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

At a presentation ceremony at Parliament House in Accra, Minority Leader Hon. Afenyo Markins and a delegation of MPs commended the Black Queens for their resilience, determination, and passion, which earned Ghana a well-deserved bronze medal.

“The Black Queens have not only represented Ghana with dignity but have reignited belief in women’s football. This donation is our way of saying thank you for lifting the flag of Ghana high,” Hon. Afenyo said.

Led by Hon. Patricia Appiagyei, the Minority presented a cash donation of GH¢100,000 to the team and technical staff. This gesture is part of a broader call for increased investment in women’s sports and equal recognition of female athletes’ contributions to national development.
