Football Association confirms October Start Date for Regional and District Leagues

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that all competitions under the Regional Football Associations (RFAs) and District Football Associations (DFAs) will kick off before Friday, October 31, 2025, and conclude on May 31, 2026.

The upcoming season will feature the 2nd and 3rd Division Leagues, the Regional Women’s Division One League, Colts competitions for boys at the U13, U15, and U17 and as well as Girls Colts at U15 and U17 levels.

In line with Policy Directives from the Executive Council, the various leagues will commence following the closure of the main player registration window. This ensures that all participating clubs are fully compliant and adequately prepared.

Importantly, clubs that fail to register the minimum number of players required to participate in matches by the close of the Main Registration Window will have their access to the registration platform locked. Once the window closes, the list of active and eligible clubs in each region will be shared with the respective Regional Football Associations (RFAs).

The Football Association continues to urge all clubs to adhere strictly to the registration regulations and to protect their investments by operating within the approved guidelines by FIFA on the FIFA Connect Registration System.

With the FAs Ordinary Congress scheduled for August 12, 2025, all necessary preparations are being finalized to ensure that the 2025/26 football season starts on schedule and concludes successfully in May 2026, before the FIFA World Cup kicks off in June 2026.
