The Technical Directorate of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service (GES), will undertake  the Football ‘4’ Girls project in the Volta Region from Tuesday, July 22 to Thursday, July 25, 2025.

The grassroots football is a key component of the GFA’s Women’s Football Strategy aimed at increasing girls’ participation in football and promoting gender equality in the sport.

Organized in partnership with the Volta Regional Football Association (VRFA), the three-day event will engage basic schools across two districts, Central Tongu and South Tongu, specifically in the towns of Adidome and Sogakope.

The Football ‘4’ Girls programme is designed to empower and inspire young girls between the ages of 6 and 12 by introducing them to the game of football in a structured, supportive, and inclusive environment. This helps build confidence, develop foundational football skills, and foster interest in the sport from an early age.

The participating schools are listed below;

Agorkpo R.C/D.A Basic

Sogakope P.C.G Basic

Sogakope D.A Basic ‘A’

Sogakope D.A Basic ‘B’

Sogakope D.A Basic ‘C’

Sogakope E.P Basic

SOGASCO D.A Primary

Sogakope Comboni Basic

Sogakope Cuiniberto Basic

Toklokpo D.A Primary

Amedzo Bilingual School

E.P Primary, Adidome

Global Primary, Adidome

R.C Primary, Adidome

D.A Primary, Adidome

By investing in young girls at the grassroots level, the Football Association hopes to lay a strong foundation for the next generation of female footballers in Ghana.
