Viktor Gyokeres is one of the best Striker in Europe currently. He has dominated in the Portuguese League. However, now Viktor Gyokeres has made it clear that he prefers a move to Arsenal over other clubs. Gyokeres has scored more than 50 goals this season and now he see the Gunners as his next step. He has shown interest in Mikel Arteta and Arsenal’s project. Also, Arsenal being in Champions League gives them an advantage in signing him this summer.

🚨🇸🇪 Viktor Gyökeres’ priority is to join Arsenal this summer despite calls from Manchester United in the recent weeks.

Arsenal have started to speed up their chase to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting this transfer window. The 27 year old striker is seen as the answer to the Gunner’s Goal scoring problem. According to sources, Arsenal’s Sporting Director Andrea Berta is personally leading the deal for Gyokeres. Several Sources have reported that Gyokeres has chosen Arsenal as his favourite destination. He likes Arteta’s system and high pressing playstyle.

Despite links with Manchester United, he would prefer Arsenal as they are in Champions League next year. Transfer Experts have commented that, “Gyökeres would pick Arsenal over Man Utd if both clubs make an offer.”

As reported, Gyokeres prefers Arsenal. However, Sporting would be open to listen to offers from all the club that are interested. As of now, Sporting expect a fee around £80 million and they feel it would be a fair price for their Player. They have taken a firm stance and would not entertain offer less than £75-80 million.

Sporting’s President Frederico Varandas has rejected all reports of a discounted transfer. He has officially announced that no bids have met their asking price. He further publicly commented, “Only the player and his agent know the actual price. This isn’t a soap opera, and we won’t sell for anything less…I can guarantee that Viktor Gyökeres will not leave for €60 m plus €10 m because I never promised that… threats, blackmail, and insults don’t work with me….If you ask me today, there is a strong possibility that Viktor will leave… only the worst agent in the world could stop it.”

Sporting’s Manager Rui Borgers when asked about Gyokeres replied, “He is a focused player, who pays attention to details, he is competitive, never lets his guard down, and doesn’t want to rest… he instils confidence in his team-mates.”

🚨⚠️ Sporting president Varandas on Viktor Gyökeres: “I’m not going to say what the price is, the player knows what it is”.

Although sources close to Gyokeres have said that he prefers Arsenal, Viktor has not formally made any comment. Pundits have commented that, “Gyökeres is exactly what Arteta needs — his hold‑up play and ruthlessness would complete the Gunners’ frontline.” However, he has confirmed that he will be leaving Sporting this summer and move to a different club.

Also, his situation at Sporting is now very tense. He had made a Gentleman’s Agreement with Sporting that would allow him to leave this summer for £60 million. Now, The club has openly said that they want more money for him. As a result, The player feels frustrated and betrayed by the club. He feels that the Gentleman’s Agreement is violated. However, he has not talked about it in public but he has still said that he will talk when the time is right.

The 27 year old striker wants a new challenge in his career. He feels this is the right time to move to a top club. The Striker from Sporting is in his prime and if he joins a top club this would help him prove himself as a top player. Also, a top club would help him to get attention for his talent.

🚨⚠️ Following Sporting president quotes, Viktor Gyökeres has no intention to come back and play again.

Gyökeres already informed the club about it, as per @Record_Portugal.

Viktor Gyokeres is expected to leave Sporting this summer. However, his move is complicated due to a tough situation between him and Sporting. Meanwhile, Sporting has confirmed that they wont sell him at a discount and expect a huge fee for him.

Many top European clubs are interested to sign him. Arsenal and Manchester United are seen as favourites to sign him. However as United are not in Champions League next season, the player prefers a move to Arsenal. The situation of Gyokeres and the deal is expected to become clear in the next few weeks. Arsenal remain confident to get this deal done but they expect Sporting to lower the price.

The Next few weeks are important for this deal. Where will Gyokeres play next season? Does Arteta and Champions League lure him to join Arsenal? What will happen between the Sporting and Viktor’s Tensed situation?
