The stage is set for another exciting celebration of youth football as the 2026 MTN Elite U-19 Championship takes centre stage at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence (GSCE) in Prampram from August 24 to September 4, 2026.
The championship will bring together ten Regional Football Association (RFA) U-19 select teams from across the country in a showcase of Ghana’s brightest emerging football talent.
The tournament has become a key pillar of the GFA’s player development strategy, providing a competitive platform for young footballers to demonstrate their abilities, gain valuable match experience, and impress national youth team coaches, professional clubs, and scouts.
With the spotlight firmly on the next generation of Ghanaian stars, the 2026 edition promises almost two weeks of high-quality football, fierce competition, and exciting performances as the country’s most talented young players compete for regional and individual honours.
Defending champions Eastern Region will return determined to retain the title they won in the inaugural edition, while Brong Ahafo Region, runners-up in 2025, will be eager to go one step further and lift the coveted trophy. The remaining regional teams will also be aiming to make their mark in what is expected to be another fiercely contested championship.
Beyond the pursuit of silverware, the MTN Elite U-19 Championship continues to serve as an important pathway for player identification and development. The competition offers young footballers the opportunity to earn selection into Ghana’s national youth teams. .
