Michigan coach Kyle Whittingham delivered a direct message to quarterback Bryce Underwood following a rocky Week 1 performance. The sophomore completed 12 of 22 passes for 170 yards and a touchdown in the Wolverines’ 13-12 win over Western Michigan on Saturday.
In his media availability on Monday, Whittingham sent a clear and straightforward warning to Underwood as the team prepares to play Oklahoma in Week 2. While he refused to place the blame for the team’s struggle on the quarterback, he emphasized that his hold on the starting job is not permanent and improvement must come.
