Selin Cemal has signed her first professional contract with West Ham.
The 19-year-old defender, who has signed up until June 2028, made her Women’s Super League debut in November, having joined the Hammers’ academy last summer.
Head coach Rita Guarino said she was “delighted” with the teenager’s progress.
Cemal, who has made four first-team appearances for West Ham, was called up to Turkey’s senior squad for the first time in November.
“This is a really proud moment for me and my family,” Cemal said of the new deal.
“I’m surrounded by experienced players that I can learn from, both on and off the pitch, and I feel like I’ve already had a lot of opportunities to improve.”
Guarino said the club had been working to develop their academy and that she was to pleased to see Cemal “progress through our pathway over the last few months, having gained invaluable first-team experience already”.
West Ham sit 11th in the league with five points after 11 games – two points ahead of bottom side Liverpool.
