Daryl Mitchell continued his excellent form against India in the 3rd ODI in Indore, scoring his second consecutive century against a hapless Men in Blue bowling attack who at one point looked all out of ideas. Mitchell’s innings ultimately ended at 137 runs in an innings peppered with 15 fours and 3 sixes as Mohammed Siraj accounted for his wicket in the 45th over. As Mitchell was making his way off the field, former India skipper Virat Kohli, who was standing near the boundary ropes playfully pushed him off the ground in a moment of pure banter. Mitchell and Glenn Phillips respective tons ultimately guided New Zealand to a massive 337/8 after 50 overs. Mitchell has been in hot form this series, scoring 352 runs in the 3 matches he has played. “There was a certain stage around the 30th overs where I was a bit edgy, but playing with Mitchell gives you a lot of confidence, he was striking the ball well and that took the pressure off me,” Phillips said of Mitchell in the post-innings chat. With the series hung in balance, the Indore game is the series decider, where India have never lost an ODI game. India have also not lost an ODI series against the Kiwis at home. The two revived New Zealand with a 219-run stand for the fourth wicket after the Kiwis had slumped to 58 for three, with Arshdeep taking two wickets upfront. While Arshdeep Singh returned 3/63 from his full quota of overs, Harshit Rana was expensive, giving away 84 runs from his 10 overs for three wickets. Towards the end, skipper Michael Bracewell hit an 18-ball 28 not out with three sixes and a four.
